1. Who we are

MastersEduTech (“EduTech Partners,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides academic-integrity tools that allow institutions, instructors, and content owners to analyze documents for plagiarism and AI-generated writing.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you visit our website, use our services, or interact with us in any other way.

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use our services.

2. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • Our website at mastersedutech.org and related subdomains
  • Any web applications, portals, or dashboards we provide to institutional customers
  • Support, sales, and communication channels associated with our services

If we provide services under a separate written agreement with an institution, that agreement may supplement or override parts of this Policy.

3. Information we collect

We collect information in three main ways: (a) information you provide directly, (b) information collected automatically, and (c) information received from third parties.

3.1 Information you provide

Examples include:

  • Account and profile details
Name, institutional email address, role (e.g., instructor, administrator), password or single-sign-on identifiers.
  • Institution information
Name of the institution or organization, department, billing contact, and subscription details.
  • Documents and uploads
Files, text, and any associated metadata that you or your institution upload to be analyzed for similarity, originality, or AI-generated content.
  • Support interactions
Information you share when you contact us for help (emails, chat messages, support tickets, or call notes).
  • Billing and payment information
When you pay for a subscription, our payment processors receive payment card details and related billing data. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

3.2 Information collected automatically

When you access our website or platform, we may automatically collect:

  • Your name, email address, telephone number, or mailing address.
  • Date and time of access and session duration

We use this data to secure our systems, understand how our services are used, and improve performance.

3.3 Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you signed in and maintain your session
  • Remember your preferences
  • Analyze usage to improve the product
  • In some cases, support security and fraud prevention

You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may affect some features.

4. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the MastersEduTech platform
  • Authenticate users and secure accounts
  • Analyze documents for similarity, originality, and AI-generated writing as requested by you or your institution
  • Support institutional reporting, dashboards, and administrative controls
  • Respond to support requests and communicate about your account
  • Send service-related notices (e.g., security alerts, changes to this Policy or our Terms)
  • Improve our services, develop new features, and run product experiments
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Legal bases (where applicable)

Where privacy laws require a legal basis (for example, GDPR-style regimes), we rely on:

  • Performance of a contract (providing the services to you or your institution).
  • Legitimate interests (such as securing our platform and improving our services).
  • Compliance with legal obligations.
  • Your consent, where required (for example, for some types of cookies or marketing communications).

6. How we share information

We may share information in the following situations:

  • Service providers and vendors
With trusted third-party providers that perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, data storage, analytics, customer-support tools, and payment processing. They may only use your information as instructed by us.
  • Institutional administrators
If you use MastersEduTech through an institution, that institution—and designated administrators—may access information connected to your use of the service (for example, reports, uploads, and usage logs) as allowed by its internal policies.
  • Legal and safety reasons
When we believe in good faith that sharing is necessary to comply with a law, regulation, court order, or government request; to protect the rights, property, or safety of MastersEduTech, our users, or others; or to investigate and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

7. International data transfers

Our servers and service providers may be located in different countries. By using MastersEduTech, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in jurisdictions that may have different data-protection laws than your home country. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

8. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as:

  • It is necessary to provide the services and fulfill the purposes described in this Policy;
  • We have a legitimate business need to keep it; or
  • We are required to do so by law or by our agreements with institutions.

Institutions may request earlier deletion of specific uploads or accounts, subject to applicable legal requirements and our internal policies.

9. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, or unauthorized access. However, no online system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. Users are encouraged to exercise caution when sharing sensitive data online.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live and how you use our services, you may have rights such as:

  • Accessing or correcting your personal information
  • Requesting deletion of certain data
  • Objecting to or restricting certain processing
  • Withdrawing consent where processing is based on consent
  • Porting certain information to another service

If you use MastersEduTech through an institution, we may refer certain requests to your institution, which is often the controller of your data.

To exercise your rights, contact us using the information in Section 13 below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

11. Children’s privacy

MastersEduTech is intended for use by institutions and their authorized users. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without the involvement of their school or institution. If you believe we have collected personal information from a child in a way that violates applicable law, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of the page and, where appropriate, notify you through the service or by email.

Your continued use of the services after any changes become effective means you accept the revised Policy.
