Last updated: October 1 , 2025

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the MastersEduTech website, platform, and related services (the “Services”).

By creating an account, logging in, or using the Services in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.

If you are using the Services on behalf of an institution or organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms. In that case, “you” refers both to you individually and to the organization.

2. Our Services

MastersEduTech provides tools that allow institutions, instructors, and authorized users to:

  • Upload and analyze documents for similarity, plagiarism, and AI-generated content
  • View reports and dashboards
  • Manage accounts, classes, or organizational settings

We may add, modify, or discontinue features from time to time in order to improve the Services or comply with legal or security requirements.

3. Accounts and security

To use certain features, you must create an account or access MastersEduTech through your institution.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date account information
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • Notify us promptly if you suspect any unauthorized access or security incident

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, unless our negligence or misconduct caused the issue.

4. Authorized use and content uploads

You may use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms and any institutional policies that apply to you.

You agree not to:

  • Upload content that infringes the intellectual-property or privacy rights of others
  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or scripts that could damage our systems or other users
  • Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services without authorization
  • Misrepresent the origin of content or impersonate any person or entity

By uploading or submitting content to the Services, you represent that you have the necessary rights or permissions to do so, including from your institution where required.

5. Use of results and reports

The Services may provide reports, similarity scores, and other indicators related to originality or AI-generated writing. These outputs are tools to assist human reviewers; they are not definitive findings or disciplinary decisions.

Institutions and instructors remain solely responsible for:

  • Interpreting reports and scores
  • Making academic or disciplinary decisions
  • Communicating results to students or other stakeholders

MastersEduTech is not responsible for institutional decisions made using or relying on the Services.

6. Subscriptions, fees, and payment

If your access to the Services is governed by a paid subscription:

  • Subscription terms, pricing, and billing frequency will be described in a separate order form, invoice, or agreement with your institution.
  • Unless otherwise stated, fees are non-refundable.
  • We may suspend or limit access if invoices remain unpaid past the due date.
  • We reserve the right to change the subscription fees at any time, without prior notice. Any adjustments to the subscription fees will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. By continuing to use the service after a fee change, you agree to pay the updated subscription rate.

Some users may access MastersEduTech through a free trial or evaluation. We reserve the right to modify or terminate free access at any time.

7. Intellectual property

7.1 Our rights

All rights, title, and interest in and to the Services—including software, interfaces, designs, trademarks, and logos—are owned by MastersEduTech or our licensors. Except for the limited rights expressly granted in these Terms, we do not grant you any other rights or licenses.

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Services
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices, trademarks, or branding
  • Resell, lease, or sublicense the Services to third parties unless expressly permitted in writing

7.2 Your content

You retain ownership of the documents and other content you or your institution upload to the Services. By submitting content, you grant MastersEduTech a limited license to host, process, and analyze that content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Services, and as otherwise described in our Privacy Policy and agreements with your institution.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect personal information.

You can review the Privacy Policy at:

9. Prohibited behavior

You must not use the Services to:

  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or institutional policy
  • Harass, threaten, or harm others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or networks
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or are using the Services in a way that could harm us, other users, or third parties.

10. Service availability and changes

We aim to keep the Services available and performing well. However, we do not guarantee that the Services will be:

  • Uninterrupted
  • Error-free or free from security vulnerabilities
  • Available at all times or locations

We may temporarily suspend or limit the Services for maintenance, upgrades, or security reasons. Where practical, we will provide advance notice.

11. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” MastersEduTech makes no warranties or representations, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy of results.

Reports, similarity scores, and AI-detection outputs are probabilistic tools and may contain errors or false positives/negatives. You assume all risk for your use of such outputs.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • MastersEduTech will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or business opportunities, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services.
  • Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the amount paid (if any) by your institution for the Services during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. In those cases, these limitations apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MastersEduTech and its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your violation of these Terms or applicable law
  • Your use of the Services
  • Any content you upload, submit, or process through the Services

14. Term and termination

These Terms apply for as long as you access or use the Services.

We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if:

  • You breach these Terms or our policies;
  • We are required to do so by law or by a governmental or regulatory body; or
  • Continued access would create a security or legal risk for us or other users.

Upon termination, your right to use the Services will cease. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) will continue to apply.

15. Governing law

These Terms will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. It’s up to you to check for updates regularly.

If you continue using the Services after the revised Terms become effective, you will be deemed to have accepted them.
